Northeastern Routs Loyola, 99-69, in Men's Basketball
Greyhounds lose third straight

BOSTON, MASS (Jan. 2)--Javorie Wilson led six Northeastern players in double figures with 18 points and the Huskies connected on 13 three-point shots, one off the team record, on the way to a 99-69 victory over Loyola in a men's basketball game played at Solomon Court Thursday night.

The Huskies (6-6) shot 10-for-19 from three-point range in the first half on the way to a 50-35 halftime lead, then extended their lead in the second half to score more than 90 points for the fifth time in 12 games this season. The 99 points were the most allowed by the Greyhounds (2-7) since losing to Siena, 100-67, in February 2000.

Lucious Jordan and Linton Hinds each scored 11 points for Loyola, which lost its third straight game. The Greyhounds committed a season-high 25 turnovers and shot just 5-for-19 from beyond the three-point arc.

Jose Juan Barea, Jesse Dunn and Adam Drain each scored 14 points for Northeastern, while Sylbrin Robinson and Aaron Davis had 13. Robinson also recorded a "double-double" with 14 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.

53 fouls were called in the game and the teams combined to shoot 76 free throws. Northeastern's 13 three-pointers were one shy of the team record of 14 set against New Hampshire last season.
