I will grant you that we would have been a much better team right now had Reimold not been run off. How good is fun. I think we might be good enough to be middle of the pack, but I don't think we would be challenging for the title.

Thanks to strong non-conference opponents and Fox Sports South I have had a rare chance to see Iona (vs. UNC) and Fairfield (vs. Duke) on tv over the last week. Iona beat UNC, which is impressive no matter how many starters North Carolina was without (Carolina had enough talent to beat St. Johns the next day, remember). Fairfield drove Duke nuts in the first half yesterday by playing hard defense. I know those are just one game samples, but it doesn't even mention Manhattan, which might be the best team in this conference if they can keep it together, and the rest. So no, I do not think we would be improved enough to win the thing.

And short of 3 perfect conference seasons, it would be impossible for anyone to win POY for 3 years.
