I wish that were the case, but I'm with JP. We have had some pretty good MAAC talent through the school in the past years and haven't done anything with it, and that's because of the coaches hired. Skip Prosser has shown that he was a good hire, talent-wise. But they did have to know he'd be moving on.

Ellerbe/Gaudio/Hicks were all bad hires. At least Ellerbe could recruit talent. He just couldn't coach. Rowe/Powell was hands down the best back court in the MAAC when they were together. And they had other talent on those teams, but he couldn't do anything with it. Other than drive most of the talent off. He started a trend that has unfortunately continued after his departure.

I know Lou holds Ridley accountable for Hicks, and probably rightly so. But who's accountable for Ellerbe/Gaudio? I might even forgive the Ellerbe hiring. He was an assistant coach on a good nationally recognized team, much like Prosser. Unfortunately, that was where the similarity ended. But Gaudio/Hicks is unacceptable.

The school just does not care about the team. There's zero advertising locally, zero hype on campus, and zero concern in the administration/athletic dept.
