Subject: EYE DOCTOR

After attending last night's game v. Iona, I am going to submit my eye doctor bill to Loyola's Athletic Dept. for payment. The score of last night's game does not do justice to how bad the team is and how painful it is to watch Loyola's excuse for basketball. The team spent most of the 1st half with less than 10 points and only had 20 at halftime because Iona called off the dogs for the last 5:00 mins. of the half.

The team clearly have given up. It is going to take years to convince the student body to come back to games. The 'dogpound' last night consisted of only a handful of students. If Fr. Ridley has respect for Hicks as a man, and if he cares about the institution, he should ask Hicks to resign and save everyone the embarassment of this program. However, I overheard Joe Boylan discussing how exciting it will be to co-host the lax national championship at Ravens' stadium. I guess he did not get the memo that basketball (and in some cases, such as FLA, NEB, ND,...football) is the most profitable of any college sport. Lax does little to nothing to bring the school money or recognition. More importantly, it brings less than desirable 'student-athletes' to campus and achieves nothing in the way of fostering school spirit.

Perhaps the student body and the alums should have a say in the next hire, unless of course Hicks delivers on his Final Four season next year.
