Hey CJ!-
I started dancing when I was 17, a few months before my 18th birthday, and I've been doing it since.
If you want to dance, thats awesome, however, its hard work, and requires a lot of attention. I'd start as soon as possible if I were you.
About having a rep. to keep up. I understand. At first I was kind of shady about the whole idea, but then got over it. Really, my dad didn't want me doing it and I wasn't to kewl with the stigma that went with it, but you get use to it, and before you know it your a kick @ss performer.
The one thing I will tell you that I think all new dancers should know, is to relax, its easy to get angry and want to stop dancing, trust me I've been there, but it all takes time, so you shouldn't give up.
So hey, if you want any advice, email me, divinecstasy@yahoo.com........ Good Luck!
Later,
Anthony
P.S. I've got Ballet in an hour...
