whoa, that chili kept you up last night, didn't it? The part about the iron and clay not cleaving to each other-well, yeah, that does bring things to mind. We often talk about in the world and not of it-not mixing with it or becoming part of it in that sense. The missionaries, too, are all around the world, mingling with the people, trying to teach them, but not of them or cleaving to them. Our democratic system is spreading all around the world, and even though it strenghthens other countries, it also is weak because of the ways those countries pick and choose what parts of our system they choose to emulate.
as for the most famous verse about the stone cut out of the mountain without hands, we have been taught that that represents the gospel, it will spread across all the earth, and all nations will bow to the mountain of the Lord. now my head hurts, gotta stop thinking so hard on a Monday!
