Try a vacuum gauge to identify any valve or head gasket problems. Also considr a compression check. I think that MSD products are very reliable, but as long as you have spark it should be good. I am assuming that you have the firing order down, make sure that you don't have a new or older block then you think you do that could have a different firing order.
