Avidail and R'geto/Rireth

R'geto slipped out from the Weyrwoman's quarters, thinking hard. If the suspcions Rireth had mentioned continued, they would just have to leave. Again. I thought Willmina said she understood! R'geto cried mentally, frustrated. I thought she said Minerva would be different. R'geto reached out for Rireth, but the bronze was out trying to find Adirath and Lerath. To explain. If I did want a post, the only one I'd consider taking was a Wingsecond. R'geto grumbled. He continued along, not really watching where he was going. He didn't really need to, most times. He was the only 'rider here right now. And the only bronzerider.

"Regeto?" a voice cut through his thoughts. In front of him stood Avidail. But it couldn't be Avidail. She was at home, at Yaman. And Avidail wasn't that tall. But only Avidail would know his name, his true name. I know it too, R'geto. Rireth called from where ever he was. I can't find them. "R'geto?" Avidail repeated, as if her childhood friend was deaf. R'geto snapped back to life.
"Hello, Avidail." he said politely, trying to edge around her. But as usual, the willowy girl was faster.
"Where have you been? I've been trying to find you for ages." Avidail searched his face.
"Had to move around a lot. Cause of Rireth. We weren't truly wanted or accepted anywhere." R'geto muttered. Avidail looked at him, her expression still smooth. Mei appeared on R'geto's shoulder, rubbing his head on R'geto's cheek comfortingly. "This is Mei, Avidail." R'geto looked at Avidail for any signs of the old flits she used to play with. Including the one he had gotten her. But the two flits on her shoulder were new. R'geto watched as a bronze and a green settled on Avidail's shoulders.
"Lua." Avidail gestured to the green. "And Lago." Avidail's eyes flared slightly. "Now if you excuse me, I'm bringing the Candidates up for a chance to look at the eggs." Avidail moved aside to let R'geto pass. He hesitated slightly, searching Avidail's face for something. Anything. He wanted the trust she used to have for him. She used to smile, cry, even laugh in his presence.
"How's Drado?" R'geto tried a stab at conversation. Avidail's cousin was a good friend of his, but the two had lost contact after R'geto had gone to Impress.
"He died in the plague, R'geto. Now I would go and see if your dragon is hungry." Avidail said pointedly. R'geto could only nod and walk through what seemed like thousands of Candidates to the Feeding Grounds.
~We'll get this sorted out at the meal, R'geto. You'll see W'menel there. And N'gal.~ Rireth said confidently. Think so? R'geto asked. ~Positive.~
