Subject: Pull Starters, Blisters, and the Zen of it All....

I see that one of our members is experiencing troubles with pullstarters. The problem isn't with the pull starter itself, but, rather, with the state of tune of the engine, and the overall knowledge of the owner. Basic set-up and tuning is very important--from suspension and chassis set-up, to needle position on the carb--it all matters. A properly set-up carburetor/engine will fire right-up on the first tug of the pull starter--if your RC Car or truck requires more than a couple of tugs, it's time to pull out the reference books/magazines and do a bit of research. I will post some links very soon to excellent articles regarindg breaking-in motors, carburetor set-up and general tuning. Do some reading. Take the time to know your vehicle inside and out. If anyone here has any suggestions or tips, please feel free to post them. We want to hear from you.
