Subject: HPI RS4 Micro motor selection

My Porsche Micro is almost done (see last photo on this page). I received the orion Elite Modified motor the otherday. This motor is 2 1/2 more powerful then the stock motor (it should propell the 1/18 scale micro between 20-30 mph). This motor is actually smaller then the stock unit. Motor choices for this car are (from most powerfull to least powerfull are: 1) Big Bad Johnson (will suck your battery dry before you reach the finishline and they don't last very long) 2) Orian Big Block (requires new motor mount and raising deck to clear chassis) 3) Orian Elite Modified (coreless motor, high effiency). 4) HPI Modified motor 5) stock motor.

I'm putting a GMP wrap around heatsink on the motor. Magnetic fields decay with the increase of heat so you want to keep it as cool as possible. Gas cars are cool but too much hassle and require lots of support equipment.

I will report back once I get the micro going with the new motor.
