Some places near here were armpit-deep in the brown water during the recent high-water event. But across the river in Marietta OH the flood-plain is broader a few feet lower. Sense no longer being common, losses there were greater. Some are saying the river came up too fast, the warnings were ambiguous, yada-yada-yada; anyone else's fault but the flood-plain-dweller's.

I do not rejoice in their plight, but even if this was a "50-year-flood" it only proves it can happen; not that anyone's good-to-go for 49 years now. Once again, de most destructive river wasn't de Muskingum, de Ohio or de Little Kanawha--it was De Nial. Romeo Kilo Bravo Alpha! Salutations &c. to All.
