When I was a little girl I went to a church that my entire family had attended for many, many years. It is a Church of Christ in Christian Union( I am not sure if you are famillar with these churches)
The had me believeing that if I sinned that I was going straight to hell. For the longest time I turned away from God because of this belief. I had lived a life of sex, drugs, heavy drinking and many more things that I got in major trouble for. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Feb.5 1997. When my son was about 2 I decided to take him to Vacation Bible School. We started going on a regular basis. I felt God tugging at my heart. A friend and pastor from the church came over one evening and I gave my life to Christ. That was Nov. 21 1999. I thank God everyday for his grace and that we are saved by grace and not by what so called good works we do. If the only way to get into heaven was to be a good person who never sinned I guess we'd all be doomed. The church I went to when I was little also had me believing that drinking is a sin. What are your thoughts on this matter? I honestly do not believe it is a sin to have like a glass of wine with dinner or even a beer now and then because the bible doesnt say it is a sin to drink...what it does say is that it is a sin to get drunk.

What are your thoughts?
