I have been Noticing the Shape that out current snare drums are in and its not very good. The ideal thing would be to buy a new set of drums but that can be very costly! But I think I have found the answer! Mark Humphry in Penn. Has found a simple way in which He takes the exsiting drum shell and strips it down to its orignal wood. This is what SFU has been doing to there drums in the last few years! removing the plastic coating and glue gives the drum a very bright sound!! after he does this He stains the wood you can choose from 60 colors I am thinking a red would be nice! The cost is $60.00 a shell and takes a bout 2 weeks so we would have to move soon! Then once we got the shells back I would like to give the drums a once over with new heads and whatever else might be needed! Just curious to what everyone thinks!
