A dog that appears to be an injured AmStaff has been running loose in our Louisville, KY neighborhood for a few days. He has a collar, but no tags. I am hoping to find his owner. On this board maybe?

I do not have this dog, as I have no way to contain him and will not bring him in the house with my small children.

He seems to be a sweet and friendly dog. He knows sit and down, and rolled over on his side when I told him down.

When I went to the store to get dog food he left and has not returned. If he does I would like to try to get him to hang around and try to find his owner, or possibly keep him.

My friends say I am nuts and risking him injuring my children.

I had a pit bull/boxer mix a number of years ago and I know he was a big baby, even though most everyone was scared of him. He was crate trained and obedience trained. He was the best dog I ever had.

I respect this stray, but I don't fear him. Are my friends prejudiced, or am I being too cavalier?

If anyone knows of a rescue organization in or around Louisville, please let me know!
Thanks,
Kathy
