3 female Pits were thrown from a car 2 weeks ago this coming Thursday.
They are all still young between 1 and 3 years old, and were used as breeders and also as Bait-dogs.(Bait dogs are the smaller non-aggressive pit put in with larger mean ones to train them for fightin)
They all were wounded around the neck and head area, all were treated free of cost by our local vet and he found homes for two of them.
One was hit by a passing car when thrown, she did not have broken bones but did have road-rash.
He called me because he knew we have room for rescues here.He did not want this girl taken to our shelters because they put Pits to sleep in our county.She is very sweet, and really small...she's full grown and only 30 lbs and she's not underweight-just small.
She is great with my kids, an 8 yr old and 13 yr old.Does not mind cats or other dogs. We have her here in our home but with 11 other dogs...all toy breeds, we just can not keep her.
Our vet did her spay for free last Tuesday and her stiches come on this Tuesday. She has been wormed and given all shots including rabies...If you know of anyone who woould give this very sweet, Housebroken, leash trained spayed female Pit a good loving home in or around Michigan please call me at 517-569-3377...ask for Alex.
