we have a 2 yr old am staff rescued from a pound, he has been with us for a year. We have 4 cats and a blue heeler in the house too and all get along fine. But he crossed the line when he growled and snapped at my foot when I moved them. He was sleeping on the couch by my feet and I moved them, he looked right at me and growled, no lip curling, just a low growl. I told him NO !! moved my foot again and he snapped. I mav be wrong ,but I resonded imediatly with a spanking and then put him in his crate. He has never shown agression so it was a surpise. Now Im not sure if I want him around or if we could ever trust him. Any suggestions on how to correct this before he goes too far? He is Neutered(done at 6 mo)and generally treats me with resect, my husband on the other hand seems to be spoiling him and wondering if this may be part of the problem.
