Subject: Anyone interested in Nortel UK?

Hi All,

I just wanted to let everyone know that the group I'm working for in Harlow in the UK (Optical Communications) is looking to hire a bunch of new people (30 in the next year) and they're not against hiring U of S EPs. Most of the people you'll be working with are physicists so if any of the physics guys are interested in optics, they like physics people here.

The stuff I've been working on is testing Gig Ethernet components but there are lots of groups doing other stuff too. Raman Amplifiers (Dr. Sofko's favourite), variable attenuators, optical switches (the microelctromechanical kind), 40 Gig stuff, 80 Gig stuff, 160 Gig stuff, Optical packet stuff, and even some network evolution stuff.

So, get in touch with me if you're interested and I can direct you towards the right people. If nothing else, you're a £50 plane ride from most of Western Europe.

Pip pip and cherio,

Ryan Forde
