So, organized religion is kinda like the Borg in Startrek ("Repent unto the Lord! Resistance is Futile! Comply or be destroyed")? I believe that as society becomes more scientifically, philosophically, and technologically advanced, religion will fade away. Maybe not during our lifetime, but maybe in 3 to 5 generations. It may struggle to stay alive, but knowledge will always defeat ignorance in the end. Religion will lose it's grip as we learn more about ourselves and the universe.
