I do not agree with Kristin that a "sense of control" is a legitimate reason for getting genetic testing. I feel like it is excuse to "play God." Getting tested to see if you had a specific gene and finding out that you did would only result in more time to know that you were going to get sick and that would result in more time to feel isolated, alone, and angry. While I do uunderstand that knowing you have caner is a truamatic experience, I do not understand why people would resort to genetic testing to find out. Personally, I believe genetic testing is justn a way to give people more power and an excuse to feel sorry for themselves.
