The best thing you can do for your friend is be there for her...not just now but as often as she needs a crying shoulder. One thing I became depressed about after losing my first baby was the fact that after so many months, people stopped talking about it, stopped asking me if I was okay, and then pretended that I didn't need anymore help. But that was so far from the truth. I needed that help from friends who let me down. So my suggestion to you is (and I hope you don't think I'm being harsh) to be there for your friend through thick and thin. Even though there will be days she may seem fine, it could be her outside fooling the inside of her and everyone else. Wrap your arms around her as often as you can and tell her that you are here for her. Tell her that you *don't* know what she's going through (if you've not lost a child, this would be the best thing to say to her) but you are there for her if she'd like to talk about it. Encourage her to talk about it. And encourage her and her husband to seek counseling. The loss of a baby is very hard and I know exactly how she feels. If you'd like to e-mail me, please do. And if your friend has e-mail, please feel free to give her my e-mail address. Do take good care of her and just be that friend to her.
