Chapter 22 cont:

The Communists are the Devils themselves. “Reagan's military build-up, coupled with his fierce anti-Soviet rhetoric, contributed to a Soviet near-panic reaction to a routine NATO exercise in November 1983, Able Archer 83. Though the threat of nuclear war ended abruptly with the end of the exercise, this historically obscure incident illustrates the possible negative repercussions of Reagan's "standing tall" to a nuclear power.” [New World Encyclopedia]

Ronald Reagan made it his main purpose, to make life hard on the Soviets. Life is hard anyway. The Soviet government did not pay but slave wages. The higher I.Q. groups could not get into business themselves; and besides, there is very little self interest for a worker to be innovative, and immature people always reject innovation they didn’t create. A poverty state, just like Mexico, is the Soviet Union’s entire history. At the very least, they protected the people from being homeless, and all had the Right to healthcare, -- which means no one suffered under the constant day and night fear that oneself may go homeless if. Yes, the Soviets were mercenary towards any dissenter, is their history. ….Reagan hates them; so he keeps high technology the U.S. has from them, as the U.S. under Reagan tries to undermine their exports in every way; and of course, spend much government money for the military. A tough guy in speak, was Mr. Reagan. “Peace through Strength.” ….After 1982, Mikhail Gorbachev became the new Soviet leader. Mr. Gorbachev wanted a good economy for his country, and felt openness, more freedom, will create this outcome. He created his glasnost and perestroika programs, for openness. This lighter spirit from Mr. Gorbachev, is why Mr. Reagan actually met with him in 1985, and in 1986 in Reykjavik, Iceland, which led to arms control agreements.

It was one year later when Mr. Reagan stood before the Berlin Wall, and said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

The most shocking thing occurred: 1989. Mr. Gorbachev, [Mr. Yeltzin standing on a vehicle, in support of the people, was exciting to see], disbanded the Soviet Union. Smaller nations broke apart from Russia. Including Poland, a Satellite nation of the Soviet Empire, who had this very decade attempted to gain more freedom through peaceful protests, encouraged by Perestroika. But then, the Soviets came down hard on the people, and they all went back into their shells. Poland’s Solidarity movement. ….So when the Soviet Union disbanded, the wall in Berlin was torn down! What an unbelievable sight to see, on television, through out the world. This wall had been there for “my whole life”. The entire world was astonished, unbelievably surprised. [Although Ronald Reagan only gave Mr. Gorbachev a pat on the back for perestroika at the most, Mr. Lech Walesa, leader of the Solidarity movement in Poland, gave Ronald Reagan the credit for the demise of the Soviet Union. As Mr. Reagan was vocally on the side of Poland during their Solidarity movement.]

The very moment the Soviet Union disbanded, politicians here at home began a very shrill, and cruel attempt to blame all badness on the poor here in the U.S.. They won’t work, when they are working for very low wages. The radio hosts won’t mention low wages as the culprit. [In Russia, they did the cruelest thing to their own people, and now they can go homeless, and health care isn’t as it was, is devastating.]

Well, the demise of the Soviet Union government happened as Reagan left office. So the big threat was still at hand, through out his presidency.

Of course the U.S. under Mr. Reagan funded the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, -- if you will recall, the Soviets are fighting there to keep their guy in power. Watch the movie Charlie Wilson’s War. These funds only helped in the end, because of one Democratic Congress leader politician, and a Republican contributor, who personally got the Soviet arms they needed, -- so that the Soviets will not note that it is the U.S. that did it.. If it hadn’t been for these two people, money would be going to the Mujahideen to shoot down Soviet planes with a cowboy’s old fashioned rifle.

In Nicaragua, rebels wanted to take over the country from the selfish money men ruler.
The U.S. backed government under Reagan, yelled communist. The Sandinista rebels were backed by the Soviets. The Sandinista Rebels, for the people, won the war. And the U.S. backed government fled. This is a first. The Sandinistas claimed to be a Democratic Republic, and they still are. . …Reagan supported the hard line ruler in El Salvador, fearing a takeover by the Socialist FMLN, -- as there was a terrible civil war there. He attempted to promote democratic elections with limited success. ….There was a communist coup in Grenada in 1983. Reagan then had this tiny little island invaded, by U.S. Troops, who successfully removed this new government and their Cuban advisers.

Nicaragua was the last of the three concerns in Central America. Any honest, well read person knows how the U.S. is behaving exactly. You shouldn’t need to read special books, to know how our government behaves in Central America and countries elsewhere. Should be on the news.

The Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon were attacking civilian targets after Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982. Israel was there for the cause of getting the terrorists, -- also in the West Bank Jordan, and the Gaza Strip. The United Nations brought in a multinational force. 800 U.S. Marines were sent to Beirut, Lebanon. ..After a terrible massacre in 1982, of hundreds of Palestinian civilians living in Beirut, Reagan encouraged the formation of a new multinational forces. 1983, a bomb blew up the barracks where 241 Servicemen were, killing them all.

Saddam Hussein was supported by the U.S. when he created a fake war against Iran, so that he could rally his people on this, -- will get them off of hating him, [as he had, late 1970’s, entered Iraqi’s congress, pointed at legislatures, who would then be dragged off and murdered.] As the U.S. is trying to keep guns out of Iranian hands.

Well, it seems we don’t want arms going to Iran. The problem was, Mr. Reagan was pretty darn upset over the communists trying to take over Nicaragua. The Sandinistas were a group of Marxists, human-rights priests, and peasants who wanted democracy is economic fairness. Communist, is anyone who is a threat to U.S. business interests, if this is what the president thinks. So the CIA waged a secret war, to help their counterrevolutionary forces, so that the dictator who is pro U.S. business can stay in power. The Contra’s, this force was referred to as. These contras had little to no support from the Nicaraguan people. 1984, the CIA places bombs in the harbor at Nicaragua, to blow up their ships. This was found out, the president lied to cover up, his people lied to cover up, that is, so Congress said you can’t have this secret war anymore. Knock it off. …1986, a new story exposes that they are selling arms to Iran to pay for arms in Nicaragua for the Contra’s. [Before this, an airplane carrying these arms for the Contra’s had been shot down. Have no knowledge, is the white house.] Yes, Mr. Reagan ignored Congress, to keep on with this secret war. …..No one said Mr. Reagan was directly involved. But if they had, impeachment proceedings would be occurring. But even many democrats, did not want this, and were in denial. The Iran-Contra Affair, had some people in trouble, but not the president, nor his men.

Before you can have a war, Congress must agree to this. ….1982, President Reagan sends American marines to Lebanon where a civil war was going on, -- ignoring the War Powers Act // Grenada, …a tax haven for money laundering, is Grenada’s claim to fame. A danger to U.S. security is not Grenada, -- a very tiny island. ….1983‘s, bombing of the Marine Barracks stationed in Lebanon. 299 U.S. and French Servicemen were murdered. …The Servicemen had come after Israel had taken the region over, and expelled members of the Palestinian Liberation Army. It is not known who exactly, did this bombing.

Star Wars is a movie. The idea of an umbrella shield over the U.S. that will destroy any on coming missiles: What a great idea. They tested this Shield without good results; but they said they had good results. It will only make Russia or whoever, to do the same, or move their stuff, every time we want to move our war stuff. As changing the game with a newest system, that may have people thinking nuclear war is less dangerous: is even more dangerous!, and is simply morally outrageous.

Throughout the Reagan years, there was the new Space Shuttle program: now, a space ship takes off for space many times over, not just one time. By the latter 1980’s, we are beginning to get used to the Space Shuttles as if almost normal. The very first person who is not an astronaut is going up in the space ship with the astronauts! A female teacher, named Christa McAuliffe. It was a very big deal. They advertised this strongly. Amazing, the Star Trek era at hand!: civilians in space! ….I was sitting on the couch, waiting for this space shuttle with the school teacher on board to take off, knowing her entire class was watching; 1986. More like a poof. The Spaceship Challenger had exploded on take off, killing everyone on board instantly. It was horrifying.

In South Africa, they had the oppressive system against black people, called
Apartheid. It is likened to the Jim Crow era, in the U.S. During the 1980’s the white leader of South Africa began reforms to instigate racial equality. But it won’t be until 1994, when Apartheid ends, and Nelson Mandela, who had been jailed 25 years for opposing Apartheid, is released from jail. Nelson Mandela, a black man, then became president of South Africa. It was amazing. ---In Israel, they have a similar system going. In the U.S., you must read special stuff to know this. Palestinian suicide bombers are occurring. --As peaceful demonstration has me looking at me, not you. Not that I need protesters to demand I merely do the right thing.

I make a living wage, I am treated fairly in the laws, and in the court system itself, then, I need to protest, never enters my mind. If the Northern Confederacy had been allowed to occur, and this Indian Nation follows the golden rule only, is real democracy, then white and black people who may live there also, will see no problem to concern.

1988 Democratic Convention, and Michael Dukakis, who had been governor of Massachusetts, was the democratic nominee for president. Reverend Jesse Jackson was the only one speaking up for the poorer people. He had no chance to win. The press said so daily. They said, don’t vote for him, or you will take away from the Democratic candidate who has a chance of winning. [DON’T SEE HE CAN WIN AFTER ALL?]
Well, be it as it may, I was sitting on the couch, at home, with my husband, watching the Democratic Convention. People were really putting down liberals, .. in the Democratic party. We were sitting there watching, and Mr. Dukakis rolls out riding in a Sherman Tank, with an army helmet on, and he made a derogatory remake, remark, regarding Liberals. Essentially, he threw the real Liberals, the Progressives, [are for social justice, Jesus’ view] right out of the party. Anyone who is a liberal is a creep. [Calling the winner before the polls are closed; the Press did this, for a while..]

I was shocked to be thrown out of the Democratic Party. I was upset. The Dark Ages were here absolutely. The press is responsible the most, for this.

+The Reason I Choose not to go any further with this history book: The old college textbook from 1962: This old book had been written with full understanding of the New Deal era. That this book did go all the way to 1962, and it was 1962, is why the New Deal era was reported correctly. [Students, what do later history texts see?] ---This School Reform history book on the other hand, does not need to report all the way to 2010, because Carter and Reagan finalized the down turn of our nation, all the while, well rounded facts are left out of the science of economy. It has not changed back.
The first president to be taught frankly, the well rounded economic facts, is Bill Clinton. He knew before I told him, not likely. Mr. Clinton did give an income tax refund that does help maintain the poor, and did allow some middle class families to afford a TV, or whatever, thus spends. The public hears nothing about how the economy works lower up, as they say, until John Kerry ran for president 2004. ….Things will improve foremost, only when complete economic fact, short is simple, is posted by law, in every True News organization websites and printed papers.
After the crash of 1989, the internet revolution helped greatly, as did the income tax credit. But don’t be fooled into thinking we had a good economy during the 1990’s; we did not at all. The middle class does not have soaring gas prices until the 2000’s. This helped.
President George Bush Junior, gave 2 real stimulus’s. $500. To the public in the mail. Helped obviously, for that month and the other; however, if it had been permanent, it would have helped. Although, real living wages is only enough. But he is given credit for doing so.

*Presidential candidates believe the same. Vote for Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum.

*A Mescalero Apache Tribal member activist, wants the Mescalero government to hand out the funds received from the Federal government, in one full payment to all Tribal members. The Mescalero governments wants to hand these funds out in payments.

*Today, 2012, government housing tends to be most decent as it should be, with maintenance. 1960, government broke up families by refusing the men to live in this housing; today, they pay more rent, but men are allowed. So they learned a little.

*Jim Wright [b. 1922] Democrat congressman from Fort Worth, Texas, for 34 years. From 1987 to 1989, he was Speaker of the House after Tip O’Neal retired. [Look Tip up; he is the “all politics are local” fellow.] All the Democrats did and also did not properly protect the lower classes through out Reagan’s tenure. However, Jim Wright in my personal memory, seemed to be protecting “us”; in an era where you are a creep if you are a liberal, [for social justice, just like Jesus]. “Seemed”, is not the same as, what exactly he did do, for which is an investigation. …During the 1950’s President Johnson, also from Texas, went along with the pro racism stances, [altering his view not until he was Vice president]. Jim Wright was supposed to go along also to get along, but he never did; he never signed nor supported a pro racism stance, and very much supported civil rights.
…I mention him instead of Mr. O’Neal because he was forced to resign for very sought after, minor offenses, which they found, only because they were looking. Why? Only because of political reasons. …The House Ethics Committee, said in their report, 1989, “that he had used bulk purchases of his book, Reflections of a Public Man, to earn speaking fees in excess of the allowed maximum, and that his wife, Betty, was given a job and perks to avoid the limit on gifts.“ [Wikipedia] [If I would allow Mr. Reagan to self correct regarding the Iran-Contra affair, which is far more serious to do, then these broken rules: These charges were not serious enough, to presume Mr. Wright a willful crook, -- as I still do not agree he is or was. Self correction was in order; resignation, unfair. Newt Gingrich, a Reagan Republican was at the forefront of this, [and I will only agree Newt is honest today, if he believes economic facts are economic facts.]
“Michael Parenti, critic of the National Security State, attributed Wright's forced resignation to the critical questions he was raising in the late 1980s with regard to CIA covert actions in Nicaragua. Wright had not only criticized Reagan's policy, but taken the extremely unusual step of entering into negotiations with the Nicaraguan government as speaker.” And this is why a witch hunt.. out to get Jim Wright occurred. By individuals, some for whom likely had something bigger to find in their financials.

*Jesse Jackson, [he has a son in the legislature, with the same name.] Reverend Jackson was an aid to Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., and was standing next to him when he was assassinated. ….1984, he created the Rainbow Coalition, and ran for president at that time, and 1988.
….Literally, in the 1980’s, except for Michael Moore, Rev. Jackson was the ONLY voice for the poor. The ONLY voice. The television news was just like Soviet Pravda News, proven, because the liberal voices were gone. And those speaking out for the disenfranchised, to do right by them, [as Jesus expects], were made fun of by the presses talking heads. ….While I voted for Reverend Jackson, [was even a local delegate], he had no chance of winning; because all voices except conservative voices are drowned out. Rev. Jackson disappeared from the scene, after 1988. …1992, Jerry Brown ran for president, and again, was the Only liberal voice, except Michael Moore. They made fun of him in the press; called him a nut. [The press member who called him that, later apologized.]
……………It is scary to see censorship. Whether unintended or not; yet, they knew they were leaving all liberal voices out. Again, censorship only occurs, because Jesus leaves the poor in and they don’t.

*Charlie Gibson. News anchorman for the ABC news, reported 2010 or 11: came on TV and reported hurriedly, that the economy works spray hose up. He resigned the very next day. Said he was retiring. Okay. Hope that is all. High Trust for Mr. Gibson, if he was thrown out.

*The internet is redesigned so that strangers are not allowed to communicate. Twitter censors economic fact knowing they are.

*As I wrote this history book for school reform, to create an interesting and most honest version: I do not mention tons of names, due to keeping the content down: while students can go look people up; make it more interesting then some old stupid report.
And while some students will wish to write a mini biography, …not everyone should have this project. Not everyone has the same I.Q. Not everyone enjoys writing, [as I do.] Be thoughtful and fun in your projects, if you succeed. Allow students options, personal choice as to how they wish to earn information. ---Schools succeed only if a student loves to learn, thus likes nonfiction books also, just for the fun; and considers this fun for the rest of his life on earth. [The social side of history, literature, so on, …is fun-nest anyway to students, usually; but make sure students are always having fun.] …Plain speaking writing makes the story much clearer. As the generations before were made numb by their textbooks written in a reference book format. As Andy tells it to Oppy, is a darn good story! And they even had that episode. --- One reason I should edit this book further, is if students tell me, booooring. [Artisans are always told off by jealous people is this: you are proven not jealous if you explain why, so that said Artesian can correct it.] ……..The social side of history; this fun book should be made; or make students make it. Would be fun-nest, if future generations in that school will read it.

*Throughout the years, technology, foremost example is the cotton gin, automated factories; machines take jobs from people. 1930’s, the printing department for newspapers had 300 people working. 1979 - 80, I worked as a paste up artist, creating the advertisements, [is less artistic then it sounds], for one year, at the Ft. Worth Star Telegram newspaper. At that time the printing department had 78 people there. It was the only time I belonged to a Union. Because no one can bully you out, because of the Union, they even acknowledged a good job done, -- when usually bullies lie about you, to get you out, thus covers up your good job done. …I suppose I should have stayed there, as I was only 22 years old, and didn‘t realize how bad the bullies are in the workforce; but by mid 1980’s computers made the printing department suddenly very much smaller, -- they likely have only 5 or 6 people in this same department now.

*While working at the Star Telegram, 1980, .. went to the stock yards to see George Bush Senior, [who was running against Mr. Reagan], and, President Jimmy Carter come speak. They were together. During the Primary Season.

*Song “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson. [Cowboy Lyrics.com]
Ever since the days of old,
Men would search for wealth untold.
They'd dig for silver and for gold,
And leave the empty holes.
And way down south in the Everglades,
Where the black water rolls and the saw grass waves.
The eagles fly and the otters play,
In the land of the Seminole.

So blow, blow Seminole wind,
Blow like you're never gonna blow again.
I'm calling to you like a long lost friend,
But I know who you are.
And blow, blow from the Okeechobee,
All the way up to Micanopy.
Blow across the home of the Seminole,
The alligators and the yard.

Progress came and took its toll,
And in the name of flood control,
They made their plans and they drained the land,
Now the glades are going dry.
And the last time I walked in the swamps,
I sat upon a cypress stump,
I listened close and heard the ghost,
Of Osceola cry.
