I simply asked you a question. That you took it as a personal attack suggests you place way too much importance in what an anonymous individual posts to you.

You are missing the point. Petacchi et al were in a group behind. Rabobank reasoned, correctly, that by helping to prevent Petacchi et al from catching back on that Freire would have a better chance in the sprint. Freire got the win.

I never said Freire or anyone else didn't want a teammate with him. You are arguing with yourself, Jonathan.

You continue to make the same mistake, just like the Postal fans who wondered why Ekimov was the only Postie at the end of P-R a couple of years ago and wondered also why Ekimov simply didn't attack and win in the Velodrome.

Again, get some racing experience and you will then understand that Rabobank is thrilled with the result they got yesterday.

Here's an analogy for you. Are you familar with the term "go-to guy" used in sports such as basketball? It's the guy who can get the job done at the end of the game, with the clock ticking down and everyone knowing that he's going to get the ball. Freire is a good example of a "go-to guy" in cycling. Rabobank likes their chances if they can get Freire in position to go against guys like Zabel and O'Grady. Petacchi though is problematic because of his powerful train. Rabobank thus worked yesterday to ensure that Petacchi wasn't there. Freire, go-to guy that he is, then delivered.
