That's to be expected. I like the TT results. The TTT results and the new time bonuses are somewhat annoying.

I also liked Indurain's comparison of Valverde to Jalabert. Jalabert used to gain a lot of time in the flat stages without over-exerting himself. The fact that Heras (with Nozal's help) has limited Valverde's gains in the flat stages is a positive.

Heras has a minute to

Valverde was an unknown last year. This year he'll be heavily marked. Heras tested himself on one of the intermediate sprints and apparently his acceleration is optimal. Given these two factors, Heras should be able to convert his superior climbing speed into real time gains. I'm thinking in the 2 to 3 minutes range.

but Nozal,

As far winning, I don't think so, but they all could help one or the other win the race.

Dissapointing ride

Yeah, he's more of a climber than a TTist.

The tactical games in stage 9 should be interesting even if the time gaps should be small. I wonder if Postal will take responsibility for leading the race. Pena's performance once again shows that Bruyneel isn't infalliable.
