Well Heras is the defending Vuelta champion, so picking him to win is hardly going out on a limb.

If a Heras fan has picked him to win every year for the past four years, since 2001, and of course a Heras fan would do that, and Heras wins again this year, then said Heras fan would be correct 50% of the time. So flip a coin.

Chris's "bold," even arrogant pronouncements regarding Heras suggest a strong emotional commitment to a Heras victory.

What I think is great is that despite what Chris says the race is still wide open and respect is due quite a few riders. And anything could happen to a contender, Heras included, such as illness, injury, or just not being good enough over 3 weeks in the combined disciplines of climbing and time trialing. I vote for excitement over any particular rider winning this race.
