I know how you feel. I am in madly in love with my best friend only he is a gay guy and has no interest whatsoever in women. So every minute I spend with him hurts like hell because I can't express how I feel.
And I also feel guilty for hiding things (not only from him but from my partner - who is a woman and is already jealous of our relationship). I think that maybe you should tell your best friend how you feel as then at least it will be out in the open and maybe knowing that you feel this way will change some of her homophobic views - as you are her best friend, so how can you be disgusting?! And maybe she does feel something of how you feel, she is just repressing it and not allowing herself to realise it. But then again, maybe she is really and truly straight and that's it. At least if that's the case, and you tell her, she will be able to be more of a friend to you by helping you get through this -she will understand you more. It's a very difficult situation. I haven't told my friend because I don't want the friendship to change and become awkward - as I know he can't feel the same way. Maybe there is someone else you can talk to about this - another friend who you trust? It really helps just to have someone to discuss it with - that is the hardest - keeping it all inside.
