Subject: Replacing Candy with Jamie and so on...

In my humble opinion, a very bad move they made and NBC could have at least upped Dave's salary by $500! If I had worked my tail off for 3 years, only to watch Candy leave the show and after he's gone-you have a little boy who fills the void and you have an 18 year age gap between Canary and Vogel. Jamie was too young to fill the gap. Joe and Hoss seemed more like uncles and Ben a grandfather. It was nice to see Canary return in 1972 and at least some of the chemistry was returned, despite the loss of Dan. In the case of replacing Blocker with Matheson; had I been DD and I would have threw in the towel. You can't replace a an actor and character that great. I liked Griff and they should have had him on there earlier, but Tim was busy working "The Virginian."

Yes, Jamie was a bad choice. The character ranks with Laura. He just didn't fit in or add anthing.David Ladd from feet of clay would have been much better and had charisma with Hoss. Or they should have had Hoss marry and have a family and after Dan's death even more storylines could have openedup. Candy could have returned and married the widow. Joe could have remained the dashing bachelor. And there would have been real little Cartwrights to enjoy. adamseve
