Dub is Buck's dad. Both great actor's.
I think Dub was such a sweet caring person in all of his western episodes.
I want to recall he was in :"Blazing Saddles" too.
Slim Pickins was in that. Any one know what his Real name was ?

from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slim_Pickens
Thanks H.L.R. of he was a rodeo clown,
of I last saw him on TV a few years ago when RTV had "Hawaii Five-O" on at around lunch time, of him " the patriarch of a family of serial killers" !

P.S. His brother is/was(?) "Samuel T. Lindley, acted under the name Easy Pickens." Answer: was, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0681787/bio

Mariette Hartley's two appearances on the Virginian were both excellent episodes. In both cases, she has a close relationship with The Virginian. "Felicity's Spring" was very memorable. Her little sister has a terminable disease, becomes engaged to The Virginian, and (of course) dies on cue.

Yes, 'Felicity's Song' is a great episode. I think I read somewhere that Mariette Hartley's father committed suicide when she was younger. In 'Felicity's Spring,' her character's father has committed suicide, which makes the scenes where she tells the Virginian about it very poignant.

Yes, it was an excellent episode, but it was their mother who had committed suicide, I think after a prolonged illness, I believe. Her elderly father was in the episode, and he worried about letting Felicity get engaged to the Virginian.

I'm partial to Gregory Walcott, with the exception of farmer Perkins I liked all his guest shots especially Thornton's account "now you simmer down too" I like him in the Clint Eastwood movies too
