Subject: What is the deal with Bonanza Boomers?

I should have known after I saw this public bashing by the big dog "January" that that forum was whackier than a $3 bill! What is the deal with the forum Bonanza Boomers? What a cesspool of negativity! Some of these women just aren't right in the head! Is everyone paranoid there? Are you the forum they're bashing? See here:
http://bonanzaboomers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26134

"I’m very disappointed that one of our members who asked to leave this board has now copied Boomers website to start her own site and is now spreading lies along with her friends that she met here on boomers.

You may notice that some of our members are no longer with us and they are the people I am referring to.

There is no reason why anything you hear should be taken as truth. Please take what you may hear with a pound of salt as we move forward to continue to have fun."

Can anyone point me to that forum if it's not this one? After the way I was treated, would really like to find out what trip January is on!

What do you mean by that, Bea? I asked if this forum here where I am typing now is the one January is bashing at the above link. It seems to me that the other BZ fans have been wronged too and I was curious to see the site and what they have to say & if they randomly slight some users at Boomers for the fun of it!

I find this topic absolutely fascinating, so I did some research on my own. Apparently, Bonanza Trails is getting bashed by Bonanza Boomers - and all the bashing is a big bucket of lies. Trails has not copied Boomers - and it's for sure that their logos are not the same unless you consider the font. Some things are similar to the old Bonanza World, Bonanza Brand, Bonanza Boomers and Bonanza Trails. They're all made with a phpBB format, so how different can they be - and who cares???

The new forum set up by those who left Boomers, not this page

I'm sorry, we appear not to be on the same page at all, what am I missing?

Let me recap, please: I asked where is that forum (where those who left Boomers are now) and you typed "That is the correct link" but I had provided no link and neither did you. I merely provided a link to the Boomers page where January is having a cow and dissing the members who left and created their own site... the site that I now seek.

If you would please be so kind as to link me to the new site location I seek, I'd appreciate it.

There's a website called BonanzaBrand.net that looks very similar to Bonanza Boomers and it's active. Maybe that's what she's referring to?

If you can get to that post, you must be a member of the Boomers web site. So it seems to me you must know more about it that any non-members, and your purpose of posting is just to slam the Boomers site. Are you the person(s) being discussed in the post?

I registered with Bonanza Boomers just to see what the brouhaha was all about.

The way I see it, the people on Bonanza Boomers are upset, and rightly so, because 2 or 3 people left their site and opened a site of their own. The new site is an exact clone of Bonanza Boomers.

The new site apparently stole every idea, forum, category, and game, and they passed all the ideas off as their own. They then proceeded to send hundreds of derogatory messages to the Bonanza Boomers Members.

I totally agree with the Bonanza Boomers members that this new web site consists of a den of thieves. There should be rules on the internet against this sort of thing.

Yeah, when I read this thread a couple months ago, I checked the Boomers site and that's what I saw. IMO the original post in this thread was made trolling for someone to post a link to the other site to get them traffic (I won't name them).

A couple days ago I found the "copy" site and joined, and it's VERY similar to the Boomers site. The worst part to me is that when one of their members pointed that out on the site, the admin's defense was "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Apparently they don't see stealing original ideas as a problem.

But what tops it off for me is the over-the-top response from "Roger" calling me "Butthurt January". That person has some sincere anger issues... add that to the ethical issues, and that's not someone I would want to be associated with.

Everything you have said is a lie. There are some similarities between Brand, Boomers and Trails, but Trails didn't copy Boomers. As a matter of fact, Boomers admittedly and flagrantly stole their ideas from Bonanza Brand! And now Boomers is screaming because they've been "wronged." Pathetic. Sad. Pitiful.

Gosh in looking at both sites, Bonanza Boomers seems to have a lot of extremely angry folks bent on revenge for perceived wrongs which appear to be more imaginary than real. The two sites seem as different and as similar as Boomers is to the site they followed. Bonanza Trails doesn't have a whole discussion devoted to complaining as Boomers does (and that thread is rather vicious and mean -- people ought to be ashamed of themselves). In fact I couldn't find anything negative on Bonanza Trails at all as the people there seem to want to have fun and are welcoming and friendly. I suppose Marty is going to attack me now for daring to dispute her or him but I have to call it like I see it, and this is how I see it. Bonanza Boomers ought to live and let live. There's room for all sorts of Bonanza fans and if you want your little corner all to yourselves, then stay there, but leave everybody else alone. You don't need to spread your poison.

Take a good look, Marty. There is no comparing your site to Trails. You spend every waking minute trying to think of ways to bash, defame, slander and slam a site that has done nothing to you. Trails appears not to bash or slander, so why don't you just drop the gauntlet and get some positivity into your sad, angry life. IMHO you are one sick puppy!

You wanna know what's really ironic here? Boomers is having a conniption fit that Trails stole from them when Boomers has blatantly stolen ideas from Trails - that's like the pot calling the kettle black. It appears that Trails doesn't mind this at all - yayyy for good sports!

Wow... Boomer is not "my site." I don't "spend every waking minute trying to think of ways to bash, defame, slander and slam" any site. You have a lot of anger there; I think it's clouding your judgement.

I found another site, Bonanza Legacy. Now I've seen four sites. They all have a lot of the same stuff on them. What's the problem? I don't see one. It's all about one TV show. They would all be similar for that fact alone. Three of them list links to other sites. Only one doesn't as far as I can tell, and only one attacks and criticizes another. It is very strange.

Hey I saw that there’s an Andy Klyde name at the bottom of the Boomers page. Is that who owns that site?

Andy Klyde is the attorney for Bonanza Ventures, the legal entity that controls Bonanza content.

He licenses a lot of sites because I’ve seen others that were licensed by Bonanza Ventures.

Does he know what they’re doing on Boomers cause it seems like a lawyer would think that maybe what they’re doing is illegal.  Isn’t that harassment.  What they’re doing?  Let me look that up.

Harassment is the act of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands and can be to gain sadistic pleasure from making someone fearful or anxious.  Now that sure seems to apply here.  I don’t think that you’re allowed to do that on the internet.

Flyer: sorry, but you bought their propaganda. Nobody copied anything any more than Boomers copied Brand. Besides, you can't copy something you can't see. They were kicked out. How could they copy things from a site they can't even go to? Those same things are all over the internet too. And the people who started the new site never sent derogatory messages like that. It's all a bunch of stuff that was made up to cover up the banning of members for joining the new site. It wasn't true and needed more to justify it until it was a tangled web that has dragged a lot of people in. Now they keep saying things to try to keep everything stirred up. It should be done and live and let live, but some people can't let it go.

Don't any of the people on Boomers ever question the lies that get told there especially when they were friends with the people who are being slandered so badly? Mandatory fan fic writing? Joining ff.net to get people to join their site? Sending PMs and posting lies on facebook? All lies. Someone is using the old Hitler theory of the Big LIe. If you're going to tell a lie, tell a very Big Lie, tell a lie so big that people think there has to be some truth to it. Sadly it seems to have worked again.

She's back at it. Does her vindictiveness never end? January: “Just wanted to let everybody know that while this topic remains quiet, anybody that is an active member over ‘there’, should not come back ‘here’.
