Dear 50 Something ...
Funny you should bring this up, this irks me as well. I try to show respect for my neighbors and my community and I suppose I tend to have naive notions and expectations of others at times.

Over the winter I watched a very professional and sophisticated looking women in a very expensive suit, push her shopping cart (in the Giant lot) dead center on front of the bumper of the car next to her very, very expensive car (in about the $40k range). I watched in amazement and disbelief not only at the disregard for the other car, but for the fact that the cart return was only one space away from her car. Go figure.
