Subject: Training tips from a Navy Seal

Okay, so this guy that I work with used to be a navy seal and compete in triathlons. He gave me some training tips, so I am passing them on. He said to take your heart rate every morning when you wake up. Once you figure out your average resting heart rate, then you can tell if your heart rate is higher than normal when you wake up. If it is higher than normal, it means your body is tired, because it has been working harder than usual, even while you rest. It could be because of lack of sleep, overtraining, or you are fighting infection. He said that if your resting heart rate is high when you wake up then you should not train as hard that day, kind of take it easy. I am going to try it and see how it goes. He said doing that made him faster because he didn't overtrain and get tired all the time.
