There's not much respect for ladies, I agree, Shelley.

You have to have in-built bovver-boots to survive in the rough and tumble world of PNG.

Haven't you noticed the insularity of most of the posts to WF? Inbred and localised to such a degree that posts that mention the outside world are largely ignored.

If you ever live and work in PNG you will just begin to learn to understand the nature of Melanesia, Shelley. Traditionally these peoples [for there are many different peoples in PNG] are tough and fairly uncompromising.

But put them up against any solid form of resistance and they tend to melt away.

Your generosity may entice the weakest of them to take advantage of you. The others will simply shake their heads in silent sympathy.
