Subject: Do not bend over to tie your laces

A FOOTBALL player bending over to tie his shoe laces was slashed across the throat and fell dead in Mendi, Southern Highlands on Saturday.
This happened in front of 1000 rugby fans at Wambip village rugby league field.
Moses Akivi, 23, of Bela village in upper Mendi was a teacher at Lapegu Primary School in Goroka. Police said his death was not related to the rugby game, or a tribal fight but suspected it was a personal matter related to his private life.
