To quiet PNGean,
there is only one thing I can fault in your logic, and that is the assumption, that one can own something on the internet.

Unfortunately once you start a forum, or post something in Cyberspace, you have already ceded ownership of it. The internet has become an entity of its own. Once you start a site, it will be what it becomes.

This seems to be a concept understood by very few, especially Governments. The Aust Government regularly postures, that it is going to legislate to control the internet. This is pure cant. Unless you take the totalitarin step, to deny people access to the intenet, this is impossible.

I know that to many, this seems like they have lost another piece of their territory. However, once committed to the net, you no longer own it. This is unfortunate, but true. This must offend many cultures. But one has to be a realist, the world will be what it is, not what we wish it to be, worse luck.

One only has to read the postings, that carry on with nothing more than abuse, to guess at this. These do offend me from an intellectual point of view, for I am one of those people, to whom everthing is up for discussion. I have no beliefs or ideas so sacred, that they are not open to disussion or argument.

As I said before, when one is speaking personally to PNG people, one can read the body-language, and bring them back into the conversation by a well timed question, or asking someone their opinion. I will definitely try to be more, (reticent?), with my opinions on the various PNG fora. That will be an exercise in self-control. Possibly good for my soul.

See what I mean, I have rabbited on for half a dozen or more paragraphs already.

Mi mekim nois tumas......Ralph.
