Subject: Dogs Rights or our childrens rights?Letter to the Editor Poteau Daily News

After an attack about one month ago by a pit bulldog, another attack recently occured on Thursday morning,Oct.3,by the same pit bulldog. After the attack occured that morning, the owner to the dog hung this dog and beat it with a board until the dog was dead.On Oct.6,the paper printed an article focusing on how cruel the dog was treated and whether or not the owner would be ticketed for this brutal attack that he did to this dog.My questions in this story are this:What about the brutal attack that happend to the 2 year old baby girl that was done by the dog?Or the brutal attack that happend to the 10-year-old by this dog?Why wasn't there an issue about a ticket being given when these brutal attacks occured? How many victims or chances should this dog have gotten? To me it seems as though the dog has more rights than the two children in this story. For those of you who think it was sad how the dog was done, let me tell you what is really sad.It is not how the dog suffered in this story, but it is the damage that was done to these two beautiful little girls'faces. And all the fears they have after such a brutal attack by that dog.And all the doctor visits and plastic surgeries they have to face to repair the damage done by this animal.Again,I ask where is the rights to our children for the attacks that happened to them?If you can punish a man for beating his dog to death why shouldn't the dog be punished for the attacks he committed? To those who are concerned I urge you to pray that the laws change to where our people have rights when faced with a tragedy such as this one.Iam writing this in concern to the two innocent victims in this story. My prayers go out to both of you for all you have been through and for all you have to face.
