Osamu Tezuka wordt veelal beschouwd als DE grondlegger van manga (en later ook anime) in zijn huidige vorm. (Dus Rinoa, misschien is het je stijl niet, mijn ook niet, maar heb toch een beetje respect voor degene die jouw hobby heeft gecre�erd.)
Beeldverhaal op zich bestaat echter al eeuwen in japan. Het woord manga betekende oorspronkelijk ook "belachelijke tekening", een beetje zoals ons "karikatuur"

Metropolis is oorspronkelijk een DUITSE film (nix amerikaans dus, de anime is inderdaad een stuk schattiger gemaakt, maar dat is nu eenmaal Tezuka's stijl.
