 I thought there were many layers to the character of the master-chief, particularly the bit after the fight scene between him and Demi, where he says he is saving her life, and later where he says the problem is the men adjusting to her, not her.

I must put in a plug for the DVD version as well which has an "extra features" bit which includes a brief but entertaining interview with Viggo, behind-the-scenes footage of filming the fight scene and also an interview with Chrissie Hynde, who did the music, which includes Exene Cervenka's "This is war"
