I was visiting the FFS website Yahoo Groups which I also belong to and came away quite disgusted today. After reading the bashing personal attacks upon Edd Townsend that were made by this so called dickincaid idiot I realized that it is time for Mr. Bob Flanigan to take quick action and hire a professional media webmaster service to fully operate and supervise an all new Four Freshmen website. This should be a paid expense of Four Freshmen, Inc. and not a freebie attempt which depends upon the group's fan base. As things stand now the Four Freshmen's web appearence is really sad and is doing more harm than good.

In my opinion, although FFW has it's own "vein" with the FF and other jazz related topics, it does not even need to exist to represent the Four Freshmen. FFW needs to be less Freshmen related and more of a "jazzy" feel for all good jazz.

All the new corporate site would need for fan input is a guestbook similar to that seen on the Singers Unlimited site. The SUL site maintains a helluva lot more class by doing it in this manner. The BBS board posting of both FFS and FFW need to be completely eliminated. Let fans communicate by private email. They do anyway.

I have always respected Mr. Ray Gardner and his postings at the Yahoo site but even he is starting to imply "rumor activity" with his "send me an email address and I'll let you in on a little secret" type of thing. This is not good on a fan site IMO. For example: The following fan posted this:

""This is only the third time I've posted here over a period of two years or so. For the most part, I've really enjoyed the postings but, in recent weeks, the acrimony has been a turn-off."

"I was strongly considering a first visit to the convention in Orlando in September, but had started to waver."

"I'm glad that the postings today have (for the most part) gone back to discussions of the FF and music. Thanks - - - it's a welcome relief from what has been going on. Thanks also to Curtis. Maybe things can now get back to a normal, civil exchange of thoughts about great music.""

---Jack in Miami---

What the gentleman was referring to was the unnecessary attack on Edd Townsend made by Dick Kincaid.

As you see it took an actual current Four Freshmen (Curtis) to get things back to normal (if there is such a thing as normal). Maybe Mr. Flanigan needs to give Curtis a raise to help out in an all new website. The better publicity makes it all worth it.

I say "Mr. Flanigan, wake up! Call David Bentley if you need the money and hire a website service company to give you the professional image that Four Freshmen, Inc. needs so badly!"
