Subject: starter problems
In reply to: Mike Lynch 's message, "1982 honda goldwing 1100 gl" on 13:36:08 05/16/04 Sun

i had that same problem and then my starter finally would not do anything. took starter off and took apart (not too difficult)and noticed that the main bolt where the power wire screws to body of starter was not making contact. on the inside of the starter is a copper ring around the entire body of the starter and it runs thru a channel on the back side of the bolt thats on the inside. it is originally soldered but had come loose.i took to an automotive electrical place and they soldered for free...hope it helps
