Subject: Wasn't Greer the Pennsylvania Player of the Year as a senior?
In reply to: Keith90 's message, "Lynn Greer!!" on 16:08:24 03/12/02 Tue

Greer was a highly-skilled scoring machine in high school who stepped in and shot 48 percent on 3-pointers his freshman year! It was pretty clear from his high school rep that Greer would leave his mark in college if allowed to shoot the ball, so I'm not sure I'd point to him as an example of a low or unranked player who turned into an excellent college player.

At any rate, other than Butler, none of the incoming players has the profile that Greer had coming out of high school, so each will have quite a journey ahead in order to reach the levels Greer has (if that's even a realistic expectation based on where they're starting).

Also, does it trouble you at all that you're left in the positon of saying "they think Robinson is a 3". If they haven't determined that as yet, then that's a problem. Because if he's not a "3" - then what is he? Yet another undersized power forward? This reminds me of last season when Murry was talked of as being a point guard. I knew that Murry played in a three-guard lineup for his high school team, and that he did not run the show. And now the Owls are looking for a more natural playmaker (Biggers?). Player targeting should be more precise than this - especially with the 5/9 (and 5/8) rule now in effect.
