Subject: Great Experience for the Young Guys

As I have stated before, I would rather be in the NIT Final Four than lose in the first round of the tournament. At least this year. We are losing a big part of our team and the experience the underclassmen are getting in this Tourney is invaluable. It is post season experience in a single elimination tournament. It will help us next year.

I had a feeling that they would step it up tonight without Lynn in the lineup. Hawkins looks like the heir apparent to Greer, and if JC can get Wesby back and make him drive to the hoop, they could be formidable. Polk is a player, but Murray and Smith (tonights effort not withstanding) need some serious development. We need Elliot to take a giant step and have our incoming big men contribute immediately. I think we might be two years from returning to the dance, but it wouldn't surprise me to see next year's club get there. We do have some talent.

All in all a great win for the Owls against a hated Big 5 rival. I hope Lynn gets back in the line up before the season ends, because I am just not ready to stop watching him play.
