Subject: Howdy and a quick joke

Hey, Rick. Just stopped by to see what's happening - not much! - hope that's a good thing! I just happened to have the following joke in my "paste buffer" so I may as well plop it in here. I blatently stole it from Dave/Eggman at ITGO. (As if he thunked it up himself!)
------
A girl from New Jersey and a girl from the west coast were seated side by side on an airplane. The girl from New Jersey, being friendly and all, said, "So, where ya from?"

The west coast girl said, "From a place where they know better than to use a preposition at the end of a sentence."

The girl from New Jersey sat quietly for a few moments and then replied: "So, where ya from, bitch?"
-----
Mini-ramble: They say Seattle is one of the most polite large cities in the US. If true, the other cities must be REALLY BAD. But, contrary to the joke, I've found folks from the east coast (US) don't pull any punches and just say what they feel even if it offends you. Fortunately, they seem to have thick skins and returning the favor doesn't bother them! I'm so used to being cautious and polite, I guess.

Sorry if I offended anyone - I'm not saying one or the other is necessarily better - in a way the frankness of the easterners is a refreshing bit of honesty, but it really surprised me when I started working with and visited folks over there. I guess we're all so different in little, unimportant ways yet so alike in the most important ways, IMHO.
