Nova Scotia has launched a program to curb bullying in schools .
The Education Department said Wednesday it will hold a series of training sessions to help teachers and others to reduce and prevent bullying . All students deserve to go to school free from the fear of any type of abuse , including bullying . said Education Minister Angus MacIasac .

The sessions are to start in the fall and are part of a response to recommendations from high school students . Relating to the April 8 , 2002 , suicide of Emmet Fralick , 14 , of Halifax . Emmet shot himself at home after bullies tormented and terrorized him .
