My son is the driver of car #56. If you know somebody who has a copy of the race that you'd like to sell I'd be happy to purchase it. (My camera quit and I missed the final presentation.)
I’ll try to address all your concerns:
You wanted to know how long people have been driving.....we’ve been racing the Waco tracks for over 20 years. We race as a family. My husband retired and my son raced his rookie season in 2002 in the Hot Stock class at Heart O' Texas Speedway against drivers with 20+ years of experience. Brandon placed 4th in points that year in a field of 25 very aggressive drivers. He was only able to race occasionally last year due to military obligations.

The incident on the back straight was caused by very close racing; it's easy for the driver close behind to run up on the driver who has just hit his brakes. Although the hit was unintentional, track rules in Waco would have placed him on the back of the restart, as did Hill Country. The rest was just racing. Moving under a car in the turn to set up the pass is not pushing around. To pass a car you must leave your preferred line. There were instances in the race when 56 checked up to allow you to gather your car up again.

Brandon has been taught to drive a clean race and to be good sport no matter what the outcome. Feel free to contact either race track in Waco to verify the integrity of Brandon or his father Mark.

I'm sorry you felt the driving was too rough. You gave us a good race.

Kudos to the employees of Hill Country Raceway. Everybody was friendly and the race program was completed in a timely manner. The officials reacted quickly to situations and conducted the races fairly and without bias. We’ll be back the next time we’re able to come.

We'll be racing at Heart O' Texas speedway on July 16, Brandon's last night home before returning to Iraq. We'd be happy to give you a rematch. Great racing! Becky Cotton
