The system as it was.. and possibly still is, has huge holes in it, allowing people to twink en mass. As I see the problem at the moment, no guards to do anything. Perhaps a different system should be set in order, one that costs a bit more to the players, but allows them to buy guards already equiped. EX: The armor and weapons the guards wear should be taken as a %, sending that % to the merchants, and taking the necessary % of ore out of their stockpiles. We have such a stong basis of virtual NPCs, but we dont see the profits/losses from them.

This is one of my biggest ideas for why the current economy doesnt work. Virtual NPCs would be buying weapons, armor, food, clothing.. ect. But the profits/losses arent seen on either side. Also, merchant houses would be crafting/constructing things, even if you dont see these virtual merchants. This might be controlable by having the house leader 'meet' with a NPC head merchant, and some code could be added to let the house merchants know what they are working on for that period. Then, a small room in each house could be filled by the items the house merchants are working on.

Also, virtual miners, could be mining ore, bringing in skins.. stone, and wood. That way, the 'need' to have PCs work for you would be less, while letting the PCs fill other roles.

While this is something we havent seen as of yet. With the current playerbase, nothing can be really done. The economy has recently taken a step forward, but 3-4 RPers cant have the effect of totaly running an empire.

Call me crazy, but I have been seeing the economy failing since the beginning, and with a few changes, we can bring in more RPers, and bring the game up to what it once was.

Of course this is asking quite a bit, but I have recently seen what a very small change can do to help/worsen the game economy.

Maybe Im just one of the people who has been around to see the fear a centurion can bring into a room, the wealth of a noble, and the power of an empire. What has happened? In one word -- economy.

Thanks for reading, I know I was a bit long-winded.
