This really is one of the best times to appreciate Vermont. If you can, try to schedule your family vacations around this time. The exact location and program of activities to be posted at a later date. We're hoping to make it in, or near Essex. This has been envisioned to be an all-day family friendly event, preferably around water, with lots of food and music. Will keep all posted of developments at this site. A few concerns, however: last i knew, there weren't alot of picnic tables, so we might have to rent some or have people bring some. Also, if we wanted to plug in any mikes or instruments later on, we might need some electricity- got a generator?? It is a nice spot though. I will be away feb.6th -18th, but when i get back let's touch base about the music, ok? Thanks alot for keeping this going! :)janice P.S. I'll check into the reservoir today, thanks janice! This would be an appropriate place, since it was where we held at least one senior skip day AND the 5 year class of '76 reunion was a great success, complete with the Fanning Brothers providing a great live show! As for getting the word out, we could start by calling those people who we are still in touch with and letting them know the date we have chosen and about this site. So, we have a site committee and a music committee, what else do we need???

We could print up two versions of the invitation, even, one for EJHS alumni friends and one for other people. It would be a neat way to let people know what else is happening around the same time. Though we did have some "press" last summer, I think our invitations brought in the majority of our audience. Of course this year we're going big-time, playing in Burlington and Montpelier (last summer it was in St. Albans)! Anyway, just wanted you to know I'm thinking about how to help spread the word... Summer in Vermont sounds idyllic to me today. It has been below zero here in Minnesota for days on end, with icy, dangerous roads and Arctic windchills. Eek!

He says they do in fact take group reservations and that there would be room for a tent. I still need to talk to the Essex Recreation people to make sure. I'd also like to scope out the place first, but I'm thinking this is sounding good for say a hundred people or so.
