A dry land dredge, huh? Sounds interesting. There was one years ago called the "EZ pikkins". It was a vac pack of sorts and also had a hopper that fed down to a sluice that was vibrated by a vacumn diaphragm type motor. As the hopper filled the material went down a rubber tube to the sluice. The tube was a one way valve of sorts where the weight of the material would open it as needed. I actually played with one for a while, but it didn't work as well as the fellow who owned it had hoped.
I know what Jim Straight is talking about the vane feeder. I'll see if I can send you a drawing. The major problem I see is that to feed a dry washer you'll have to lift the material too high. Gold doesn't want to go up hill so good. Then the vane feeder will have to turn at a speed that will allow each vane to empty before they fill to where they bind up. And then what will you use to turn the vane feeder? I suppose you could make an air motor (turbine) and gear it down to the correct speed for the feeder. It would be in line from your blower to your dry washer. Should work????????????
My 2 cents??????
