Randy

Potpourri: Did you find the Bondar-Clegg of possible use? I inherited George Elwoods notes from Richard. Still need to get with you re: Tertiary channel stuff.

Okay, the narrows of Golar Gulch. It is "iffy" to try to drive up; I have walked in from Morman Flat/Gulch area; not
difficult. Twenty years ago a friend had a placer claim in this general area and recovered nuggets as big a six-pennyweights with a drywasher-contraption using constant air. Bob S.--- He said Tye Paulson (who found the 27-pound
Mojave Queen in 1977) did some detecting on his (Bob's) claim w/permission of course. However, nothing was found with detecting.

The local geology very complex. Geological maps are available however. There are Tertiary channels in the broad area, the daylight line could be in a clip zone. Any gold will be alluvial in nature, possibly very smooth and flat and easy to float out of a drywasher riffle-tray.

I believe the MXT is about 14kHz. Same as the old Compass Gold Scanner. I have used the 14-inch on the Gold Scanner throughout the broad area. The larger coil was not at its best. Possibly a smaller coil would be advisable--- if Jim McC reads this he will be the authority re MXT and larger coils. However, I believe the standard coil (or in this case due to iron-mineralization, a smaller coil) with any machine "usually" a good choice.

The day of the Two-Box is like the setting sun. I had one,
Even used it to try to locate a buried ore car for a lady who was then living in Golar Heights. It would have made a nice article for a magazine. I didn't find it; maybe you can? I'm sure you can find out about it from your sources.

Thought: I understand a nugget worth about $400 was found in the Moromon Flat area back about 80 years ago??)
