Hi Jim!
I have been finding some pretty good spots far as drywashing in the hills above San Francisquito. Unforutnately I have to go around the closed gate,as you asy "low and slow" if I may misquote you.

I don't care if others find out as they'll never get it all with hand tools in one lifetime. Having said that I took a fella out who for 10 years dug ditches for the So.Cal. gas and he dug a trench 21" deep,3'wide and 12' long!! He got the most gold from my hidden litte canyon I have ever seen compared to what I have seen in Goler-what an animal!! Needlessly to say I will never invite him again and he says that I would have to show him again how to get there as there are many roads leading off here and there-pheww.

Going up to Big Tujunga to one of the ancient river patches. My friend Ray Velasquez (successfull nugget shooter unlike me) saw a post on one of the nugget shooting forums about this spot having small nuggets so I got out my Thom Dibblee geological map and sure enough there was this patch. I will bring my MXT and Eric Fosters Goldquest V2.2 and see if I can find some for myself.
Going to the surgeon next week to schedule surgery on my right shoulder-tore the labrum which is the carteledge right smack in the center of the shoulder socket! That will put a slight dent in my gold prospecting for quite awhile. The surgeon who looked at my MRI told me that I have had that tear for along time by the cysts surrounding it.
By the time I'm healed up drywashing season will be all over, but at least I can nugget shoot.

Randy
