Darryl, the GP extreme will do a lot more than the SD2200 and is definitely worth it if you can afford it. If you don't have the bucks, get yourself a SD2100 preferably a SD2100v2, a coiltek booster, a pair of Koss UR-30 headphones and a Coiltek 14"PRO coil and you'll get gold. The new nuggetfinder monos look like being excellent on the 2100 so the 14" elliptical will get you into the tight spots, and onto the tiny stuff that the 14" won't see.
That's how it is, no BULL.
