Derek, it WOULD be a waste of time detecing the powdered, cyanide-treated sand. But as for tailing piles, and especially ore dumps, there may still be potential for detectable gold. The reason is that some operations "crushed it all, cyanided it all," even if there was richer pockets of "highgrade" which came from the mine. Give it a go.... HH Jim
